Another in my continuing attempt to photograph all the Virgins of Guadalupe in Los Angeles — this in South L.A., on Central Avenue, I believe.

Sam Quinones, Are you masquerading as me? I not only love this picture of Nuestra Senora, I’ve been taking pictures of her Mexican images for years — and have a collection of 250 images — more or less — in my Lake Chapala Home. You know how collections are. It started out because I found one that was so kitschy and funky that I couldn’t stand not having it framed for my wall. Then a silly friend gave me a second and my maid went on a bus to La Villa and brought another back — and Ya — three of anything is a collection. A few years ago on the way to find the El Tesoro distillery in Arandas a group of us stopped off in La Valle de Guadalupe to visit the church. One in the group asked a friend if I would leave voluntarily or if they would have to drag me out. Thanks for sharing the picture of Our Lady of the Sunset. She’s great and SO LA.
